About the Artist
I was born in a folk artists family, so I grew up with the Mongolian Long Song. Naturally, I became established in being the heir to this amazing cultural inheritance through singing, collecting many folk songs and interviewing lots of folk artists. The Mongolian Long Song is very unique way of singing. You can hear the Mongolian Nomads’ life and feel the cultural characteristics. The Mongolian people sing with this special language to pay tribute to the history, culture, moral, philosophy and art. Therefore, the Long Song is called the “living fossilMusic ofthe prairie”. The Mongolian Long Song originated around 2000 years agoand it’s recorded in literacy since the 13th century. On November 25th, 2005, the Mongolian Long Song was added to the UNICEF’s list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
